HomeGate lets you expose your home-hosted services to the internet safely — without revealing your IP address or opening ports on your router.

The Problem

Self-hosting is great — until you need to share your services with the outside world. Traditional approaches force you to open ports on your router, expose your home IP address, and deal with dynamic DNS, SSL certificates, and firewall rules yourself.

That means anyone who visits your Jellyfin server, Nextcloud instance, or Home Assistant dashboard can see your residential IP. Not ideal.

What HomeGate Does

HomeGate acts as a reverse proxy between the internet and your home server. Traffic flows through our shared VPS infrastructure, so your real IP stays hidden. You get a subdomain, automatic SSL, and optional access protection — all without touching your router.

How It Works

Under the hood, HomeGate connects your home server to our infrastructure using Tailscale tunnels. When a request hits your HomeGate subdomain, it's routed through Caddy (our reverse proxy) over a secure Tailscale connection to your home server — and the response is sent back the same way.
