announcement launch
Welcome to HomeGate
Introducing HomeGate — the Proxy-as-a-Service platform built for self-hosters. Expose your home services safely without leaking your IP.
HomeGate Team ·
We’re excited to introduce HomeGate, a new way to expose your self-hosted services to the internet — without the usual infrastructure headaches.
The Problem
Self-hosting services like Jellyfin, Immich, Ollama, and Nextcloud is great, but exposing them to the internet is a pain:
- You need a static IP or dynamic DNS
- Your ISP might have CGNAT, making port forwarding impossible
- Your home IP is visible to anyone who visits your domain
- Setting up reverse proxies, SSL certificates, and DDoS protection requires real DevOps skills
Our Solution
HomeGate is a Proxy-as-a-Service. We sit between the internet and your home server:
- Your IP stays hidden — traffic flows through our proxy infrastructure
- Works behind CGNAT — no port forwarding, no static IP required
- Auto SSL — Let’s Encrypt certificates provisioned and renewed automatically
- DDoS protection — CrowdSec-powered security blocks malicious traffic
- Custom domains — bring your own or use a free *.homegate.sh subdomain
How It Works
- Sign up and add your service (e.g., Jellyfin on port 8096)
- Connect your home server via Tailscale — a secure tunnel, no ports to open
- Your service is live at
your-id.homegate.shwith HTTPS
That’s it. No nginx config, no certbot, no firewall rules.
What’s Next
We’re in beta and actively building. Here’s what’s coming:
- Advanced access rules — geo-blocking and rate limiting for Dedicated plans
- Bandwidth analytics and monitoring dashboard for Dedicated plans
- Custom plan tier — pick your proxy specs (CPU, RAM, bandwidth)
- US server locations for North American users
